For directions to packet pickup use 2801 McHenry Ave, Modesto, CA. For directions to the start/finish use 1101 I Street, Modesto, CA. The start/finish line is at 11th and I (eye) Streets.
In addition to a good amount of on street parking, there are several parking garages in close proximity to the start line of the Peace Officer Memorial Run:
Bag drop will be available at the merchandise tent on I Street at 11th Street. Bags can be collected after the race by showing your bib.
Please do not put valuables in the gear check bags.
ALL participants, including Kids Fun Run, receive a shirt, goodie bag and finisher medal.
Online registration closes on Sunday, October 6, 2024 at 7:00am. Don’t wait, prices increase the closer it gets to race day.
Registration is available at the packet pickup. A race shirt may not be available, though. After the race, bring your bib to the merchandise tent at I & 11th Street to see if a leftover shirt in your size is available.
Race day registration will be at the registration tent at the finish line. Registration opens at 6:00AM and closes at 7:00AM sharp.
Runners will receive a race bib, official timing, course aid and finish line food & drinks, but will not be guaranteed shirt or oodie bag.
While online registration is open, you can transfer your entry to another person on the race registration update page. You must find your own person to transfer your entry.
You can change distances from your RunSignup.com account.
Bibs must be picked up at the packet pickup or on race day. No mailing services are offered.
Anyone under the age of 12 must be accompanied by an adult.
All registrations are final and no refunds will be given.
There is no virtual run for the Peace Officer Memorial Run.
Packet pickup is at the Culture Coffee Bar, 2801 McHenry Ave, in the same shopping center as Hobby Lobby. Packet pickup will be open from 10:00am to 4:00pm on Saturday, October 5, 2024.
With the online registration nothing should be required. If there is a question about the registration, you my be asked for photo identification.
You can have someone else pick up your bib and packet at the packet pickup. Please send them with a copy of your photo ID and a completed Packet Pickup Authorization form.
Packets can be picked up starting at 6:00AM on race morning. Check out the finish area map to see where to pick up your packet.
The course is open for 4 hours, closing at 11:00AM.
Permits require that we reopen streets by specific times. If you exceed the cutoff time, you must proceed on the road shoulders or sidewalks, and you are subject to pedestrian traffic laws.
Service animals are allowed on the course. For the safety of other runners and your pets, no other dogs are allowed on the course.
Children in strollers are allowed on the course at no additional charge. Only the paid runner gets finish medal, though. For the safety of other runners and your child, we ask that runners with strollers line up near the back of the starting chute.
Children who are paid participants of the race (accompanied by a parent) will get all that any other runner receives.
Race day weather conditions have varied from year to year. Generally, it is chilly in the morning, but the day turns to cool and is great running weather.
Choosing to use an audio device will NOT result in disqualification, but you may compromise your safety and that of others by wearing a headset.
In accordance with the guidelines set by USATF we recommend that you do not use headphones during the event. If wearing an audio device results in you being unable to hear verbal instructions or commands, approaching vehicles or course officials, you may be asked to relinquish the device.
There will be 5 water and performance drink aid stations along the course. They will be located at the following locations:

Mile 6.75
Mile 8.6
Mile 12
All water stations on the course will be single sided and will have medical personnel and portable toilets at each location.

Yes, every aid station will have two port-a-potties.
Also there will be 20 port-a-potties, two ADA port-a-potties and two wash stations on 12th Street between H & I Streets

Captivating Sports Photos have photographers at the start/finish and on the course. These photos are FREE!
Photos will also be available for free download 1-2 weeks after the race. The download link will be posted to our website and social media when ready.

We do not have divisions for wheelchair or assisted teams, but we welcome them to compete. We ask that they compete in the 5K as the half marathon events can be very difficult for wheelchair and assisted runners when entering and exiting the park system.
For the benefit of our timing system and race officials, please make sure your bib is visible on the front of your body.
Bibs must be worn and visible at the finish in order to receive a finishing medal.
Age-group awards can be picked up at the awards tent at the finish line area. There will only be awards ceremony for the top three men and women's 5K and Half Marathon finishers and all the Full Gear Challenge finishers.
Come to the packet pickup. Your volunteer coordinator may contact you prior to the packet pickup if necessary.
Wear layers as the weather can be unpredictable this time of year.
It is best to bring a snack or lunch as you may not be able to leave your position until after your shift. Volunteers can also, receive food at the vendor area when their shift permits.
We aren’t able to provide any secure storage. It is best to leave valuables at home or carry them on your person.
