Volunteers are essential for the success of any great event, and we are seeking dedicated event volunteers for the Peace Officer Memorial Run. These volunteers play a crucial role in creating a safe, organized, and enjoyable race experience. We will need over 250 volunteers to ensure the safety, accuracy, fun, and the highest level of organization necessary to host the Half Marathon, Relay, Full Gear Challenge, 5K, and Kids Fun Run.
There are several volunteer opportunities available:
Volunteers assist with packet pick-up, checking in runners, and distributing race shirts and goodie bags.
COURSE MONITORS - don't let the name fool you! This is a fun assignment where you serve as primary cheerleaders and motivators as runners pass by. You also direct participants, staff barricades, and redirect traffic when runners are present. Want to wear a costume? Do it! Make things fun for you and the runners!
We need additional volunteers to distribute water at aide stations and hand out finisher medals, along with many other vital roles that contribute to this amazing event.
Please note that volunteers under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
Now is your chance to honor the fallen officers from Stanislaus County while welcoming the athletes who will join us for this memorable event. All volunteers will receive a limited edition, specially designed Race Crew T-shirt, which changes annually.
The times listed are approximate. Course monitors should be in place by 6:15 am and will be released by the Modesto Police Department or race officials after the final participant passes through the course.
