The big day is underway!! Come out and enjoy the day and cheer on the runners.
This race was developed to honor the peace officers from Stanislaus County who were killed in the line of duty. In honor of these heroes, the start line, finish line and each mile of the half marathon will be dedicated to one of the 20 fallen officers from Stanislaus County. The officers photo along with the agency they worked for and their “End Of Watch” date will be displayed at their mile marker.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 5, 2024
SUNDAY, OCTOBER 6, 2024
The half marathon course is flat, fast and will highlight many jewels of Modesto.
The race start/finish line is located in front of the picturesque Gallo Center for the Arts where pictures of fallen officers will be displayed on their giant LCD screen. Runners will be treated to an opening ceremony that includes a fly-over by law enforcement aircraft, the presentation of colors by law enforcement color guard and bag pipers.
Once the race begins it will make its way through downtown and into the scenic college area. After running by Modesto Junior College and into the shaded residential neighborhoods of the college area runners will locate their first aide station at the popular Graceda Park.
Once refueled, participants make a brief reappearance downtown to pass by the McHenry Mansion and McHenry Museum. The course then flows into wooded Dry Creek Park where music and another aide station will keep runners motivated. Runners will exit the Park at McClure Drive and make their way to Claus Road and then onto Scenic Drive.
Runners then make their way back downtown where there will be no mistaking the finish line. A Fire Department ladder truck will be waving a 50 foot American flag over the finish line to motivate runners to finish strong.
The runner assigned to the first leg (Chip Timed) will begin the race on the Starting line and run 6.5 mile to the timing pad located at McClure Road as you exit the dry creek trail. The exchange point is just past the timing pads.
Second Leg runners NEED to stay clear of the timing mats to avoid being picked up by the timing mats and not record your teammates time.
SECOND LEG DRIVERS: You can park your vehicle on Dry Creek Drive west of McClure along the golf course (Creekside Golf Course) or 3424 Dry Creek Drive, Modesto CA, 95354. First Leg Drivers can then return to the finish line to cheer on their teammate across the finish line.

Open to all First Responders and military only!
Participants must wear their full duty uniform and must be “duty ready” – meaning uniform and all equipment to perform their first responder duties (gun belt, ballistic vest, turnouts, etc.)
Participants MUST complete the full 5K course.
The 5K course will follow the half marathon route until the participants return downtown during the second mile of the race. Runners will turn right onto F Street and follow 14th Street back to I Street where they will glide to the amazing finish line.
The Kids Fun Run is sure to be a blast! One of our local police chiefs will be on hand to deputize the participants of this race so they can have the proper credentials to “Catch the Crook.” Our crook will be dressed in a black and white jail outfit and there is no doubt these junior police officers will make sure justice prevails. This course will be approximately a half mile long and participants must be 12 years or younger. Parents are welcome to run with their children.
There will be 5 water and performance drink aid stations along the course. They will be located at the following locations:
All water stations on the course will be single sided and will have medical personnel and portable toilets at each location.
For your safety and for the timely reopening of the streets to vehicular traffic, you must reach key locations by specified times (equivalent to a 18 minute per mile pace) or you will be required to move to the sidewalk and follow all traffic laws.
The Back of the Pack Crew and SAG Wagon will signify the end of the field and the maximum 18 minutes per mile pace. They will not start timing until the last person crosses the start line and will be with you throughout the race. If you cannot keep pace, the crew will help you as you board the SAG Wagon or move to the side of the road.
The course leads through some of Modesto's finest and most beautiful residential and park areas.
